Matan Schecter: writer, style guru, fearless belly dance pioneer. And also a loyal D.Webb Designs customer. Recently, Matan went above and beyond when he surprised us with a video project titled "30 Ways to Wear the Empire from D.Webb Designs." We were thrilled! (Half of them were styles the D.Webb team hadn't even thought of...)
We immediately wondered "What made him decide to do that? What is he all about? What makes an artist like Matan tick?" So, we asked him...

It was magical. Aerialists flying above us under lights ethereal and surreal, almost psychotropic video art splashed across the walls, highlighting dancers swirling and undulating throughout the entire room.
That was "Yule", presented by Sera Solstice at the Muse Brooklyn on December 10. Gorgeous.

This stunning performer is an animal rights activist, owner of Sol Dance Center in Astoria, Queens and, most recently, a fulltime cast member of Broadway's "On Your Feet", the story of Gloria and Emilio Estevan! A very full plate!!

Global. What does that make you think of? ...markets? ...warming? ...climate change? ...village?
Either way, it's a huge concept. It overwhelms. At least until we give ourselves a mental headslap and remember that, oh yeah, global is also what is right in front of us -- we are all a part of "global," no matter where we are.

You know how every once in a while you'll log into facebook and the site will have seen fit to remind you of something you posted a year, or two or three, ago? You might laugh at the memory, or cringe (you know, in a "what was I thinking when I posted that?"
