When Elements Combine… (AKA “We Made a Video!”)

When Elements Combine… (AKA “We Made a Video!”)

September 27, 2017

D.Webb Designs, Mabina Danseuses and Daniel V of Onza Davichi got together and made this really cool video! Why, other than for the sake of art?

Well, as small business owners/artists, we so often seek collaborations with like-minded people so we can all benefit and grow and reach untapped audiences. Frequently, we receive new lifeblood and fresh ideas from the energy and tone created in those collaborations.

Or to put it another way, when you totally dig each other’s vibe, you make some art together… heh.

And we did. Happy Dance!

This has been a while in the making, with D.Webb being the fulcrum point in our creative triangle. Having already done a video project (and written a blog post about) Daniel V and his activist organization Priceless MVMT, Debbie knew she wanted to work with him again.

2017 African Entertainment Award and HAPA Award nominees Eto’o Tsana and Mabina Danseuses have worn D.Webb Designs pieces in numerous music videos and live performances over the last year or so, because, gosh darn it, they dance so well! (I, for one, can say that the black bandeau has become a staple in my costume go-bag, because it works with EVERYTHING.) And so…

It just made sense to put all three together and see what came of it!

Daniel flew in from LA to film it, Debbie took care of production, created the wardrobe and styled the group, Eto’o provided the choreography and original music for the piece, and voila! Art!

This is a short promo piece of what we put together, and the Elements you will see and hear are:

We asked our ambassadors to participate in a D.Webb social experiment where they would send us some creative videos and photos of themselves in their FAV D.Webb threads. Well...we received some freakin' amazing footage so we decided to interview our Ambassadors and individually highlight them in our blog. That way you get to find out who these fab people are! We are kicking off this blog series with Jo!

Just like most small businesses, the pandemic has affected us greatly...but that isn't going to stop us from creating! We are shifting and changing in order to adapt to the new norm. Our biggest change is that our new pieces will now be pre-order only. We're so excited to test out this new strategy and we hope you like it too!
